According to the survey, given the high unemployment rate, recorded in our country, this percentage increased by 14% points, compared to last year and 3% above the global average, demonstrates the continuing important deficit required experience (60%), professional skills (25%) and available candidates (17%), which characterizes the Greek labor market, according to the views of their own employers.

The annual survey of ManpowerGroup, on the lack of talent, held for the eighth consecutive year in 42 countries around the world in more than 38,000 employers. Greece participated in the survey for the sixth consecutive year, a representative sample of 751 employers from all sectors of the economy.

The 10 places with the greatest difficulty

In Greece, for the fifth consecutive year, employers face the greatest difficulty in meeting places “professional sellers”, followed by difficulty in covering this specialty of “senior officials”, which climbed two places in the rankings from last year.

More than one in two (54%) Greek employers estimate that jobs remain unfilled because of difficulty finding suitable workers, have moderate to high impact on the firm’s ability to meet the needs of its customers.

This percentage is significantly increased (+20%) compared to last year.

The main areas affected negatively by the “lack of talent”, according to the Greek employers is the ability of customer service (48%), competitiveness / productivity (42%) and the capacity for creativity and innovation (30 %).

The international picture

In total more than 38,000 employers in 42 countries, the percentage of employers struggling to find candidates with the necessary qualifications for the proper functioning of their businesses is 35%. Compared to last year, the rate recorded an increase of 1 unit and is at its highest level since the start of the crisis in 2008.

The greatest difficulty in finding suitable individuals facing employers in Japan (85%), Brazil (68%), India (61%), Turkey (58%) and Hong Kong (58%).

The issue of lack of talent shows little to trouble the Spaniards (3%), Ireland (3%), South Africans (6%), the Netherlands (9%) and Czechs (9%) employers.

On top of the world rankings, the positions, employers are finding it harder to meet, this year is exactly the same disciplines to 2012: the skilled craftsmen, engineers and sales professionals.

Globally, the percentage of employers who considers that vacancies have moderate to high impact on their business operations, increased to 54% from 42% last year.
